The dividend is down from $19 million last year and $18.7 million in 2024. It represents more than 10% of eligible premiums paid in 2023, Portland-based MEMIC said. More than 17,000 Maine policyholders are eligible for the dividend, the insurer said MEMIC said the dividend is based on its financial performance, claims experience and policyholders’ workplace safety results. The dividend will be distributed next month.
