Insurance Brokers said Thursday it has launched Liberty Collateral Protection, a collateral protection facility for lenders and loan servicers with large, multi-state portfolios. The program is designed for institutions facing heightened regulatory scrutiny and managing complex exposures and uninsured collateral risk, Liberty said in a statement. It combines lender-placed insurance, real estate-owned coverage and collateral protection insurance with insurance tracking, compliance oversight and claims administration, the Los Angeles-based broker said. The facility is structured to support residential, commercial, auto and equipment collateral, Liberty said. “The integrated framework is designed to help lenders reduce uninsured collateral exposure, improve audit and exam outcomes, and mitigate borrower complaints tied to insurance placement and servicing processes,” the statement said. The program is led by Jose Fontes, president of Liberty’s lending and collateral specialty group.
