The donor gave the 46 pounds in bars in November to the Osaka City Waterworks Bureau, the mayor told media Thursday, the AP said. “It’s a staggering amount and I was speechless,” the mayor said. “Tackling aging water pipes requires a huge investment, and I cannot thank enough for the donation.” Maybe repaired pipes in Osaka will set a gold standard.
