Gallagher & Co. Jan 30, 2026 Rates for cyber aggregate excess of loss coverage dropped 32% at Jan. 1 renewals on the back of substantial oversupply, Gallagher Re said Friday. The sharp decline in rates was noted in the reinsurance broker’s most recent cyber risk adjusted rate index, first launched in 2025. Buyers also saw beneficial changes in contract terms at renewal including lower attachment points. Gallagher Re said the aggregate market is the most well capitalized part of the non-proportional cyber reinsurance market and has become “the non-proportional solution of choice for the majority of cyber reinsurance buyers.” Primary cyber insurance rates are forecast to continue softening in 2026, the reinsurance broker said.
