Both will continue to report to John Doyle, President and CEO of Marsh, the company said in a statement. London-based Mr. Studer was previously president and CEO of Marsh Management Consulting and vice chair of Marsh. He joined Marsh’s management consulting business in 1997 and held various roles before being named to head it in 2021. New York-based Mr. South joined Marsh from Zurich Insurance in 2007 and headed various businesses and regions before being named to head the brokerage business in 2022. The appointment of Mr. Studer marks a departure from the past several heads of the brokerage unit, who had previously worked in the company’s retail or reinsurance brokerage units.
