He previously was a managing director at Aon and a member of the brokerage’s North America transaction solutions operating committee, Brown & Brown said in a statement. Based in New York, Mr. Lewis will report to Neil Krauter, senior leader within Brown & Brown’s private equity and M&A services practice. In the newly created role, Mr. Lewis will lead Brown & Brown’s transactional tax insurance operations and oversee a team focused on tax-related risks associated with mergers and acquisitions, transaction structures and tax credits, the statement said.
