He succeeds Casey Bowlin, who founded Sunstar in 2013 and will transition to the role of chairman, the broker said in a statement late Wednesday. Mr. Meyerowitz co-founded Prime Risk Partners in 2014 and most recently served as COO for EPIC following its 2019 acquisition of Prime Risk. Sunstar Insurance Group is the 45 th -largest broker of U.S . business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings. The broker has 58 agencies in nine states with more than 930 employees. It is a portfolio company of Reverence Capital Partners, which acquired a majority stake in the firm in 2024.
