He succeeds Elaine Whelan, who will retire as CFO effective Sept. 30. Ms. Whelan joined the company as CFO in January 2021, shortly after Conduit Re was launched. Mr. Pickering joins Conduit after 11 years at Aspen, where he most recently served as group CFO and treasurer. He previously held several senior positions at Aspen, including group treasurer and CFO and CEO of Aspen Bermuda. At Aspen, Mr. Pickering helped oversee Aspen’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2025 and its subsequent acquisition by Sompo Holdings, which was completed in February.
