Commercial auto lines showed a 5.18% increase in February, down from a 5.62% increase in January. Business owners policy lines were up 6.81% in February, down from 6.89% at the end of January. Commercial property, up 7.05% in February compared with 7.22% in January, and umbrella coverages, up 8.84% compared with 10.47% in January, saw the largest increases. Meanwhile, general liability rates rose faster in February, up 7.01% compared with 6.89% in January. Workers compensation saw a smaller decrease in February, down 1.43%, compared with January, when it was down 2.17%. The Ivans Index analyzes more than 120 million data transactions and includes more than 38,000 agencies and 700 insurers and managing general agents.
